KACE has conducted a workshop on Monday 27/10/2008 in Le
Meridian Hotel entitled "New Directions in Public Administration:
Serving Beyond the Predictable", which was attended by the Public Sector
Reform Committee and KACE Board Of Trustees members and concerned
ministers.
The workshop paper was presented by Mrs. Jocelyne Bourgon,
president emeritus of the Canada School of Public Service and head of
the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration, who was invited by
King Abdullah II Center for Excellence (KACE) to benefit from the
Canadian experience in developing the public sector performance in
Jordan.
During the workshop, Mme Bourgon talked about the new
administrative models for public sector reform, resilience and emergence
and risk management. She also stressed the importance of governance to
deal with the unpredictable circumstances.
From her side, the Executive Director of KACE, Mrs.
Yasera Ghosheh briefed the participants on the reforms in Jordan, and
the public sector reform initiatives in particular, as well as the King
Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and
Transparency, its objects and impact.
A memorandum of understanding will be signed between
KACE and the Canada School of Public Service to enhance the bilateral
cooperation related to public sector reform.
