Delegation from Singapore Civil Service College (CSC) visited King Abdullah II Center for Excellence today to discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties. The CSC is specialized in improving the administrative skills and capabilities of government employees, and build strategic competences, in particular on key areas of public administration and leadership.

The Executive Director of KACE Dr. Ibrahim Rawabdeh welcomed the delegation, that was headed by Ms. Tina Ng the Director of Civil Service College International accompanied with Mr. Kelvin Chi the Manager Middle east and south Asia desk at the college. This visit is continuous for their first visit on August 2014, in order to discuss the ways of cooperation and exchange of experiences between the college and King Abdullah II Center for Excellence.

During the visit, the Singaporean delegation discussed the possibility of holding workshops and organizing a joint conferences for the best practices in the public service field, practical tools that ensure excellence in service within a limited budget, and to work on the twinning projects of similar institutions in Jordan and Singapore, in addition to studying the possibility of conducting field visits to institutions outstanding performance in the field of public service in Singapore to benefit from their experience to achieve administrative development in the public sector.

Executive Director of KACE, Dr. Ibrahim Rawabdeh expressed the center’s gratitude to host the Singaporean delegation and also expressed the center’s intention to cooperate with the Civil Service College guided by the directions of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein, during his visit to Singapore in February 2014.

The Civil Service College (CSC) started its journey in March 1971 as the Staff Training Institute. Its task was to train new officers in the Administrative Service in modern management concepts and techniques. This training was later extended to officers in other services. In addition, the curricula were expanded to cover training in language and supervisory skills; in 2001 the college has evolved into an organization of five training institutes and four departments. The college provides an opportunity for public sector employees to learn and share knowledge, exchange views, create a network of dialogue, and develop a culture of service.

The college offers diverse activities, which qualify and enable trainees to build strategic capabilities in governance and leadership, public administration and management through: training, lectures, seminars, publications and events which includes international experts and leaders of public and private sector.
